About the Teacher
Hi, I’m Hannah!
I’ve been playing piano since the age of seven and I’m now in my 20s, completing a Bachelor of Music (in classical piano performance) at the Queensland Conservatorium (the Con).
I’ve been teaching piano since the age of sixteen, and am driven to unlock the unique potential of each of my students. I know for a fact that with the right support and guidance, everyone can learn to play the piano with joy and ease.
Having been personally taught by world-class pianists Joshua Creek, Hila Yusupov, Natasha Vlassenko OAM, Therese Milanovic, Bernard Lanskey, and Sophie Min, there is no doubt that under my instruction, you will receive high-level guidance and the most up-to-date strategies for learning piano effectively.
As a classical pianist, my solo and collaborative performances have been featured on ABC Classic FM and 4MBS Classic FM (Impressions, Affections (2024); AQUILA (2025)), and I have performed at the Thomas Dixon Centre, Queensland Conservatorium, and various Brisbane performance venues. My playing has been described by Modern Classical Music Magazine as “ethereal” with “intense vibrant passion”, and I’ve been blessed to perform repertoire by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Tchaikovsky, and Szymanowski to name a few.
Interested in genres other than classical music? Me too! Along with classical piano, I’m active in musical theatre, jazz, and pop/rock, most notably through performing in recent mainstage musicals including Legally Blonde: The Musical (Queensland Conservatorium), Carrie: The Musical (QPAC), and A Chorus Line (Queensland Conservatorium); and session work with artists including Stanlee Harris and singer/songwriter Lara Estel.
If you’d like to stay up to date and see more of my work, chuck me a follow on my Instagram and Facebook (@hannah.blain).
As a normal human being, I love being active outdoors and hanging with my girlfriends at Anita’s Gelato in West End (I’m a sucker for chocolate cookie!).
